Dhammaruchi Temple

Dhammaruchi Rajamaha Viharaya temple is located in Galegama, Ataviragollawa, Medavachchiya where the venerable Ambalangoda Dhammaruchika thero is the chief incumbent. This temple is scarce with resources for the monks and worshipers. There are about 80 families living in the village who are observing “Sil” (the practice of living with good conduct) on all four days of Poya. Water quality is poor in this area.

We have tested the water. TDS level of this temple is 540. Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in water are some organic and inorganic materials, which include minerals and ions that are dissolved in a particular quantity in water. TDS Level in parts per million(ppm) 300-500 is less acceptable. A high TDS level, however, can affect the taste and odour of water. Reverse Osmosis removes TDS by forcing the water, under pressure, through a synthetic membrane.

As a solution for this matter we have donated a Reverse Osmosis filter to aid in preventing poor health amongst both the monks and worshipers.
